Output: Conducting TOT and social trainings on rule of law in Farah province, production and broadcast 80 episodes of radio dramas, 80 radio roundtables, 80 TV programs and 20 TV roundtables.
Objective: To promote the rule of law by strengthening the target communities, through mobilizing people, raising public awareness, civic education and coordinated advocacy activities on both the formal and informal justice systems and basic rights.

Project 33: 2012 London Olympic Run-up TV and Radio Programming

Duration: 3 month (June to August 2012)
Output: The 2012 London Olympics Run-Up TV and Radio Programming initiative will provide Afghan viewers with understanding of the Olympic Games and highlight the efforts of Afghan Olympians competing in the 2012 London Olympics. Saba Media Organization (SMO), with technical support from Creative Associates International (Creative), will produce an eight episode TV/radio series entitled “Afghanistan’s Road to 2012” broadcast by Saba TV and Nawa Radio to reach 2.5 million Afghans in 21 provinces. The series underscores the impact that sports have on nation building, improving cooperation and communication between individuals, communities and nations. Sports media coverage provides shared experiences for both competitors and viewers, humanizing opponents and leading to peaceful community dialogue.
Goal: To promote dialogue and peace-building in Afghanistan through sports by educating Afghans about the country’s achievements in the sports arena over the past 10 years and connecting Afghans to the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Objective: To provide insight and background on the Olympics, Afghanistan’s Olympic history and the story of the Afghan Olympians participating in the 2012 London Olympic Games to 2.5 million viewers in 21 provinces of Afghanistan through the Saba Media Organization, comprised of Saba TV and Nawa Radio.

Project 32: Promoting and Protection of Women’s Rights

Duration: 12 months (December 01, 2011 to November 31, 2012).
Project location: 15 provinces of Afghanistan (Kabul, Kandahar, Balkh, Herat, Nangarhar, Logar, Parwan, Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Uruzgan, Nimroz, Hilmand, Baghlan, Faryab and Farah) through Saba TV.
Overall objective: to contribute in process of “enhancing respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms in Afghanistan”
Specific objectives:
1. To raise awareness on women’s rights among the Afghans
2. To contribute in elimination of all forms of violence against women
Output:
- Research on forms of violation against women;
- Finding women rights’ violation cases from all over Afghanistan;
- Documenting the cases and its use in TV program production;
- Airing the messages on awareness raisig on women rights and its protection in daily TV programs to 15 provinces of Afghanistan (6 minutes per program, totally in 312 programs during one year life of project);
- Collecting people’s views and opinions on the aired messages and its application in the next programs;
- Facilitating the advocacy for the identified and aired cases;

Project 31: National Campaign on Education for All in Afghanistan 2011

Duration: April 01, 2011, to March 30, 2012.
Project purpose: To take part in the global campaign for Education 2011; SMO, WBRAO, CHA, AMMC, OHRD and other same-minded organizations as a consortium of Afghan organizations will organize this campaign in Afghanistan in close coordination and cooperation with other active organizations, Media sector and the Government of Afghanistan.
Overall Objective: To ensure quality of services, encourage volunteerism and aware the government and people about their responsibilities through lobbying, civic education and general awareness rising programs.
Specific Objective: To influence politicians, policy-makers and policy-influencers to take urgent action in order to achieve the Education for All Goals.
Output: 1). Organizing national campaign on education for all in Afghanistan 2011, 2), production and broadcast of audio and video messages, 3), organizing and broadcasting of 14 radio roundtables, 4), printing and dissemination of 10000 print promotional materials, 5), and uploading of project report at SMO website.

Project 30: Advocacy for Access to Justice for Afghan women

Project purpose: to support the project "Advocacy for access to justice for Afghan women
Goal: protection of women right and their access to justice
Objectives: 1: To inform public of the evil of violence against women and its consequences on family and society. 2: To increase public pressure on justice sector in ending impunity on VAW. 3: To increase women's access to justice.use them in TV Show-Court programs.
Output: 10 TV Show-Court, two court per case will be produced/organized by Saba TV, based on findings of Justice for all programs.

Project 29: Awareness rising programs on promoting democracy

Objectives: long-term objectives: clarifying the meaning of democratic values, to deepen the understanding of such values for the Afghan citizens and Afghan Civil Society and to identify a set of recommendations for application of democracy in the Afghan context. Specific objective: providing awareness raising programs to around 2,000,000 Afghans on democracy and human rights in 22 provinces of Afghanistan.
Output: 20 researches on democratic process in Afghanistan, production and broadcast of totally 20 awareness raising programs through radio Nawa to 22 provinces of Afghanistan, organizing and broadcast of 20 roundtables through Nawa radio to 22 provinces of Afghanistan, organizing and broadcasting totally 6 TV roundtables.

Project 28: Great Idea (Distance Learning in Afghanistan)

General objectives: The objective of this project is to develop a distance learning model which will ensure better access to quality secondary education in 4 provinces (Kabul, Parwan, Kapisa and Panjshir) in Afghanistan for boys and girls within the framework of the vision of the Ministry of Education.

Project 27: Building Afghan Peace Locally

Objectives: The Overall objective is “to contribute to long term peace in Afghanistan based on strengthened local civil society with active participation of both men and women”. The Specific objective is “To strengthen civil society capacities in 4 Afghan provinces in effectively resolving and mitigating conflict whilst enhancing the status and inclusion of women and opening a national debate on peace and conflict resolution”.
Output: Annual peace campaigns, local debats in Kandahar, Faryab, Takhar and Bamyan and national debates through radio Nawa.

Project 26: Citizen’s Platform for Gender Equality in Afghanistan
Donor: Ambassador’s Small Grants Program to Support Gender Equality in Afghanistan/Creative Associates International Inc.
Duration: nine months (24 November, 2010 – 31 August 2011)
Objective: To contribute supporting gender equality in terms of race, sex and gender mainstreaming in Afghanistan
Output: Developing SMO’s organizational, programmatic and gender capacity, reviewing relevant policies and procedures, developing gender policy, building citizens’ platform for gender equality in Afghanistan through allocating airtime of Saba TV and Nawa radio by organizing 10 TV/radio roundtables, raising awareness of around 250,000 direct and 750,000 indirect participants on women/girls rights in the 22 provinces by the end of the project through production and broadcast of 47 investigative TV programs based on real cases of violation against women, membership of organization in Afghan Women’s Advocacy Coalition (AWAC) and contributing to the development and implementation of national women’s advocacy.

Project 25: Citizens' Platform for Democratic Debates & Dialogues in Afghanistan

Duration: 14 months (default 24 months) started from 01 November 2010 to 31 December 2011
Objective: The project aims at deepen the understanding of democratic values and identify a set of recommendations for the application of democracy in the Afghan context.
Outputs: Intended Outcomes (1) Clear understanding of democratic values in international and Afghan contexts by Afghan people; (2) Awareness raising of Afghans on democratic values achieved through awareness raising TV and radio programs; (3) Deepen understanding of democratic values achieved through a media platform for organizing debates on democracy; and (4) Application of democratic values in Afghanistan formulated and shared with concerned organizations and the general public.
Outputs: 20 research materials on democratic pillars, involvement of 600,000 local viewers of Saba TV, one million listeners of Nawa radio and 10000 global audience of SMO website and developing a set of recommendations based on findings of project.

Project 24: Legal Awareness Raising Programs through Radio

Location: Faryab, Jawzjan and Badakhshan provinces
Objective: To increase community level demand for access to justice and realization of human rights with particular attention to the rights of women through public awareness raising
Output: A total of 359 diverse production including 32 presentations and introductory programs, 12 debates and panels, 32 dramas, 3 songs, 135 interviews, 135 vox pops, 10 main messages on Human Rights and justice issues produced and broadcasted by Radio Nawa and three local radio stations (radio Tamanna in Faryab, radio Armaghan in Jawzjan and radio Amo in Badakhshan provinces of Afghanistan).

Project 23: Production and broadcast of drama serials and awareness programs

Objective: To contribute in building a prosperous, just, free of drugs and informed society in Uruzgan province, where all the residence do respect each others’ rights.
Output: Production and broadcast of radio and TV dramas (production of 176 episodes of radio dramas, production of 47 hours TV programs, production of 47 hours radio programs, broadcast of 106 hours TV dramas and TV programs, broadcast of 106 hours of radio programs through Nawa radio.

Objective: The overall objective of the action is to strengthen civil society and contribute to peace building efforts in Afghanistan by enhancing the capacity of youth
Output: Extending coverage of Radio Nawa to Ghormach, Broadcasting Weekly and Monthly Programs on Radio Nawa, Awareness Campaigns on Key Social Issues including Education, Justice, Peace and Child abuse prevention

Output: Coalition building, organizing gatherings in Kabul and target provinces, Awareness through media (print media, radio and TV), reporting, follow up activities for the coming year on the themes “education”, “justice” and “peace”. Around 20 CSO’s will be mobilized for campaigning; around 200000 people will be the participants in campaigning events; over 2 million people will be covered through TV, Radio and print media approaches.

Objective: To ensure quality of services, encourage volunteerism and aware the government and people (men and women) about their responsibilities through lobbying, civic education and general awareness rising programs
Output: Coalition building, organizing gatherings in 10 provinces, Awareness through media (print media, radio and TV), Reporting, Follow up activities for the coming year. Around 20 CSO’s will be mobilized for campaigning; around 10000 people will be the participants in campaign; over 2 million people will be covered through TV, Radio and print media approaches. Beside other media activities, 22 live TV programs will be produced and telecasted by Saba TV on biweekly bases on the theme, which will facilitate coordinated advocacy addressing injustice in the society in long term.

Project 18: Public awareness rising and Education programs through media

Objective: To educate and raise the general awareness of Uruzgan residents through broadcasting TV and radio programs and broadcasting some specific educational programs to schools and public in general.
Output: SABA TV station installed in Trinkot city-Urozgan, [5] hours TV programs produced and broadcasted per day, 24 hours radio programs broadcast per day through Nawa radio, 4 surveys conducted

Project 17: Campaigning on Child Abuse Prevention in Afghanistan

Objective: To inform, educate, deter against and dissuade 1,500,000 Afghans from involvement in the illicit drugs trade, cultivation of opium and abuse of opiates, through dissemination of dramas and radio campaign.
